Excerpt From:
VALENTINE COWBOY
The Sprite of Apacheland

“What the hell is all that commotion?” That was all I could hear coming from Kurt Dwanner, the local shoe cobbler and leather craftsman, as he came running out of his shop that was next to mine. I was sitting on the porch of Cath and Honey’s shop with my two girlfriends, Janet and Barb, who had stopped by for a visit. Kurt  heard us screaming hysterically, and came running out from his shop. It only took a moment for Kurt to realize what we were screaming about.  A seven foot rattlesnake decided to join us girls for some afternoon tea.  It made its way across my shop porch heading straight into our circle of chairs. You never saw four girls run so fast in your life! In our frantic and frenzied search for safer ground, we knocked each other down in the dirt to escape the oncoming slithering villain. Our legs gave way to collapse and we toppled on top of one another. I’m sure it was quite a sight for Kurt to see.
